Pinewood Derby update - FINAL DATE ANNOUNCED

The Pack 249 Pinewood Derby race will be Sunday, Feb. 24 from 2pm-5pm at First Church. The weigh-in will be Friday, Feb. 22 from 6-7pm at First Church. If you cannot make the weigh-in, please have someone take your car for you. If that is not possible, speak to your Den Leader who can arrange a solution.

I have forwarded the Lighthouse District's PWD rules and race announcement. There is no limitation as to who may attend this year.

We will follow these rules. Please note the addition of a couple of rules from last year: the wheel base cannot be lengthened and the wood (as well as the wheels and axels) must be from the BSA kit. DO NOT PURCHASE A PINEWOOD DERBY KIT FROM ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE BSA. You shouldn't need another kit, of course. Please, direct all questions to your Den Leader. We will conduct an open division following the same rules, though we will award only one trophy. The open division is for anyone other than a Cub Scout (or an additional Scout car).

We still need someone to volunteer to run this event. The commitment is short and not very demanding, but definitely needed. Please, let me know.

The Pinewood Derby is a classic Cub Scout experience that everyone will enjoy. Please, let your Scout build and design his car. Then come and have fun!
